BOSTON CASA INC
Mission Statement
Mission Statement: Boston CASA promotes and protects the best interests of children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect. We train and support community-based volunteers who provide a voice to children in the court system so they may thrive in a stable environment. Our Work: Boston CASA recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to promote the well-being of children separated from their families due to abuse and neglect. Most of these youths are placed in foster care. CASAs work on one case at time to provide continuity and focus from a single adult that the judge, lawyers, caseworkers, and others in the child's newly disrupted life cannot. A CASA works to ensure the youth receives the educational, residential placement, medical or mental health services they require. The special advocate also communicates with all the adults involved in the case to provide the judge with a monthly report on the child’s progress and challenges. Working on one case at a time, CASAs provide a youth with a reliable adult in the most challenging time of their young lives.
