NATIONAL COAST GUARD MUSEUM ASSOCIATION INC
Mission Statement
The National Coast Guard Museum Association, Inc. (NCGMA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to building the first national museum to honor the U.S. Coast Guard. For 225 years, the U.S. Coast Guard has played a vital role in safeguarding our ocean shipping lanes, helping to drive our economy, protecting our fisheries, and conserving and restoring the environment. The vast scope of the U.S. Coast Guard’s mission is astonishing, especially considering the size of the service branch. The mission of the Museum is to: • Preserve the rich and varied history of the U.S. Coast Guard; • Celebrate the vital and ever growing partnership between the U.S. Coast Guard and private industry; • Educate current and future generations about the value of this military branch; and • Honor the U.S. Coast Guard’s role in saving and protecting lives and commerce across America’s waterways.
