PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD YOUTH SERVICES
Mission Statement
Patchogue-Medford Youth and Community Services (PMYCS) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving the diverse needs of the Patchogue (11772) and Medford (11763) communities since 1982. Our agency has become a fundamental necessity for members of the community. The mission of our agency is to provide support, strength and opportunity for positive growth to youth, their families and the community through education, recreation, intervention and outreach. While our programs stress opportunity for our youth through participation in community activities and the implementation of educational, cultural, recreational, and social programs to encourage, counsel, and foster ideas of concern to the youth of the area, our efforts are not limited to youth alone. Our organization, through its programs seeks to establish a dialogue, provide direction, and foster understanding among all segments of society, to promote ideas, share concerns, and provide constructive avenues in the community to resolve problems through conflict resolution and mutual understanding in a socially acceptable manner. Finally, our organization acts as a conduit between programs offered throughout the community and with all levels of government to provide assistance, counseling, aid, understanding, and support to families and youth in distress and need.
