THEATREWORKS USA CORP
Mission Statement
Since 1967, TheaterWorksUSA (TWUSA) has created exceptional theatrical experiences with performances for young and family audiences in diverse communities throughout New York City and North America. For nearly 60 years, we have been a trailblazer in the not-for-profit theater space, leading the evolution of theater for young audiences and contributing to the 21st-century canon by developing over 140 original plays and musicals. Each year, we bring our productions to more than 440 communities across the country. Since our founding, over 100 million children, educators, and families have experienced live theater with a TWUSA production, often for the very first time. TWUSA’s programming aims to inspire young people with a sense of hope for the future while also instilling in them a sense of responsibility to the world around them. Our programs include North American tours, which bring original plays and musicals to communities nationwide; the development of new theater works that expand and elevate theater for young audiences; and the creation and dissemination of study guides that support in-classroom instruction related to TWUSA productions.
