Mission Statement
Established in 1988, the mission of CharacterPlus (a resource of EducationPlus) is to develop positive character traits in young people by providing high quality character education processes and resources to schools, homes and communities. Today, CharacterPlus serves over 330,000 students and 30,000 educators from over 70 school districts throughout the region including Missouri, Southern Illinois and Kansas. Goals include: 1) To develop and nurture students' full academic potential by way of building safe and caring learning communities; 2) To empower educators to understand and effectively use character education as a resource for teaching and learning across all subject areas; and 3) To promote parent /community engagement and collaboration in school-based character education initiatives.
