Mission Statement
Our Story Football and cheerleading have long been central to the communities of Butler and Bloomingdale. Before 2010, Bloomingdale youth competed as the Chiefs in red and white, while Butler teams, the Bulldogs, wore blue and yellow. Over time, participation in both programs declined, prompting leaders from both towns to meet and explore a long-discussed merger. In October 2010, an agreement was finally reached to unite the programs with a shared mission: to grow youth sports and provide a positive environment that teaches sportsmanship, respect, accountability, and teamwork. Thus, the Bloomingdale Butler Youth Club (BBYC) Junior Bulldogs were formed, becoming a feeder program to Butler High School. Games would be played at Memorial Field in Butler and historic Delazier Field in Bloomingdale, with equal representation in coaching and leadership. BBYC’s first season in 2011 set the tone for success, highlighted by a Super Bowl championship and an undefeated season. Since then, BBYC has continued to grow, welcoming new families, leaders, and ideas—united by a shared belief: “It Takes More to Be a Bulldog.”
