Mission Statement
We are dedicated to educating the public about the history, art and culture of our town Jim Thorpe, originally known as Mauch Chunk, and we share the local history of surrounding communities in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Our extensive archives and displays genuinely enlighten tourists and residents with our rich history, art and culture. Our town presents a time capsule of our Victorian era heritage which led our nation into the industrial age.
