CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT COALITION
Mission Statement
The Congenital Heart Defect Coalition is a national nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to improve the quality of life for children and adults born with heart disease, also known as a congenital heart defect or CHD. There are two critical paths for us to achieve this goal: (1) unite and support the families affected by CHD; and (2) fund research to improve long-term care and outcomes. Wrapping around these two objectives is the need to increase national public awareness of the severity of congenital heart defects. Even though CHD is the #1 birth defect affecting 1 in 100 babies born in the United States, most people have not even heard of it until their family was directly impacted.
