ELYRIA ICE HOCKEY BOOSTERS CLUB INC
Mission Statement
Our Mission: Building Players, Building Community Established in 1960, the Elyria Ice Hockey Club (EIHC) is the unwavering beacon of ice hockey for Elyria City and Lorain County. Our mission is simple and profound: to nurture every player’s skills and instill an unyielding spirit of teamwork and love for the game. We offer a comprehensive, clear pathway for young athletes, supporting them from their very first tentative steps on the ice to the thrill of competitive travel hockey. Our experienced volunteer coaches don’t just teach hockey; they dedicate their wealth of knowledge to ensuring each player’s journey is marked by continuous improvement and deep personal growth. The Uniqueness of Hockey: Commitment to Affordability The EIHC Board is dedicated to keeping the focus where it belongs: on the ice, not on the fees. Hockey is unique. Unlike most other youth sports, the practice space itself—the ice—is extraordinarily expensive. The cost of renting enough time for a full season can be prohibitive, forcing clubs to drastically increase player fees or cut crucial practice hours. For us, higher fees mean fewer kids can play, and that goes against everything the Elyria Panthers stand for. That’s why our entire community effort is focused on relentless fundraising. This commitment allows us to maintain the lowest registration fees in the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL), ensuring our programs are the most affordable option for local families. A Partnership for the Future Home to the EIHC is the North Recreation Center, a facility we proudly share with the City of Elyria. This powerful partnership is a testament to our shared dedication to enhancing the rink, enriching the experience for every player and fan. Together, we’re not just playing hockey; we’re building a strong, united community fueled by the thrill of the sport and a commitment to access for all.
