UNITED WAY OF ROCK RIVER VALLEY
Mission Statement
The mission of United Way of Rock River Valley is to improve life in the Rock River Valley by mobilizing the caring power of our community. For over 90 years, United Way of Rock River Valley has been uniquely positioned to address the most pressing issues facing our community. United Way of Rock River Valley is a local organization actively involved in coordinating health and human services and regularly engages the community to address critical issues.United Way has evolved over the last three years, transitioning from a fundraising orientation to a specific focus on addressing issues through its own initiatives. As such, United Way has expanded its efforts beyond just merely funding agencies. United Way focuses on three areas central to the long-term success of our community: Education, Income, and Health. Programs and services in these areas specifically led by United Way include our Success by 6® Early Childhood Initiative, Early Grade Reading Initiative (I READ), and Neighborhood Resource Center to help community residents living in____ economically challenged neighborhoods access programs to enrich their lives. Additionally, United Way funds 89 local programs through 51 agency partners that help children and youth achieve their potential through education; help individuals and families become financially stable and independent; and assist members of our community with improving their mental and physical health. In all, United Way positively impacts nearly 110,000 lives each year through its own community initiatives and funded agency partner programs.
