Briefly summarize the organization's history, mission and goals. HISTORY - Elijah's Retreat (ER) has operated in the piney woods of Jacksonville, TX since 2009. ER has grown significantly from serving 34 families in 2017 to over 363 families with autism in 2025. MISSION - To be a sanctuary for families facing autism. GOAL - ER strives to create a beautiful, peaceful setting for families to disconnect from schedules and simply see the world through their child’s eyes as they explore nature and animals with new excitement. We provide 6 comfortable cabins and numerous opportunities for families to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories. ER provides flexible schedules and customization to accommodate the interests and needs of each family. The 50-acre retreat includes a playground, sensory and music rooms, garden, hiking, barrel train rides, activity barn, bicycles, bonfires, and fishing. ER provides mini-therapeutic riding lessons, and ranch hand experiences. ER also provides work experience for local youth with autism.
