Mission Statement

Founded more than 100 years ago by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mount Mary University (MMU) educates women to transform the world. MMU is a comprehensive, private, not-for-profit Catholic university for women located in Milwaukee that encourages leadership, integrity, and a deep sense of social justice. Excellence in teaching and learning with an emphasis on thinking critically and creatively is one of MMU’s priorities.
