Mission Statement
Community LINC’s mission is to provide a transformative community that equips and empowers KC families experiencing homelessness to establish stable housing, resilience, and lasting independence lead-ing to a self-sustained living and lifestyle. Community LINC has a proud history spanning nearly four decades of helping to prevent and end homelessness for thousands of children and parents in the Metro Kansas City area. From assisting six families annually, the organization has grown to support 300+ households in 2023 and more in 2024, highlighting the significant need for transitional housing and support for families within our community. With a vision of ending homelessness for this generation and the next, we strive to build a supportive network around each family, connecting them with resources, support services, and opportunities needed to be successful and live independently. Community LINC’s Transitional Housing Program plays a crucial role within the broader context of emergency services and the safety net system, helping to bridge the gap between immediate emergency care and long-term stability for families facing homelessness or housing instability. Transitional housing provides a more structured and supportive environment where families can work on addressing underlying issues that contribute to their homelessness. And, by providing integrated support services, we are helping reduce the likelihood of families returning to homelessness, ensuring a stronger safety net.
