Mission Statement
“The Helping Hands” is a program organized by Live Free a non-profit organization. The Helping Hands assists people with disabilities by providing minor home repairs & physical fitness info such as: nutritional guidance, exercise routines, building ramps, painting rooms, installing hand rails, and much more. This program helps ease the day to day lives of those living with a disability. We have many veterans/disabled children in the valley that need our help. The Helping Hands was started by "Senior Airman Micheal Shannon Pultz" in 2010. As most of you have heard we lost Micheal on July 7th 2013. Micheal did not even know that the day of his service he was receiving the Commendation Medal from the Air Force. Micheal's family is keeping the program going by having many fundraisers to collect funds necessary for the repairs and equipment needed. Most people that are affected by a disability will find support in many areas other than their day to day living. Not only are ramps and support bars a huge help, but even the smallest projects like painting are usually more than a family with a disability can handle. Most families are living on a fixed income, and majority of their money goes to medical care and/or medicine. This leaves little to nothing left for repairs, assistive devices, fitness equipment, or even a night out. That is where you and The Helping Hands program comes into place, making a difference in the lives of those unable to help themselves.
