SHOOTIN FOR A CURE
Mission Statement
Shootin’ For A Cure is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization comprised of all volunteers to host an annual Sporting Clay event (known also as Shootin’ For A Cure) to achieve the goals of contributing funds to Breast Cancer research and assist local cancer patients to reduce the financial burden in the Hood, Johnson, Parker and Tarrant Counties while battling Cancer. Shootin’ For A Cure started as a vision from Marci Gray and her husband Darek. Marci became a dedicated Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-day (60 mile) walker and knew she wanted to do something to make a difference. This vision became more imperative to implement as the Stage 3 Breast Cancer diagnosis was made on one of our close friends. Together with a group of friends they brought Shootin’ For A Cure to life to help raise money for Marci’s donation entry fee into the walk and help local cancer patients reduce the financial burden during their battle with Cancer. After the 2nd shoot two more friends were added to the team of walkers and thus team Miles for Melons was born. Miles For Melons walkers are volunteer members of Shootin’ For A Cure. Little did they know that this small event vision would take off to such great standings that it is today with continual annual increase to research and local donations. While Shootin’ For A Cure hosts one big event per year, there are smaller events members attend to help promote cancer awareness and spread the word of assistance Shootin’ For A Cure has to offer to support and help ease the mind of those with the disease diagnosis. We are dedicated to help find a cure for not only breast cancer but to take our shot against all cancer!
