JESSICA C THURSTON MEMORIAL FUND

The Jessica C. Thurston Memorial Fund is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The Jessica C. Thurston Memorial Fund’s purpose is to keep Jessica’s memory alive through supporting breast cancer research and supporting other local charities in and around our community. Jessica Thurston of East Bridgewater passed away at the age of twenty-nine in 2013 after a two year battle with breast cancer. Jessica was an East Bridgewater High School graduate who went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State College. Jess displayed so much strength and resilience during her illness living her life with a positive attitude. She brightened the world of those around her with her smile, laughter and sense of humor. She loved running and proudly completed a half marathon in the Spring before her diagnoses. The Jessica C. Thurston Memorial Fund was established to honor the memory of Jessica through contributions to breast cancer research. Through our actions we are trying to make a positive difference. In memory of Jessica and her love of running we are organizing the Second Annual Run for Jess road race in her hometown of East Bridgewater. Run for Jess will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 beginning and ending at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club. We will be raising money to fund breast cancer research and support other local related charities in and around the community.
