MEDARDS HOUSE
Mission Statement
The mission of The Link 4 Youth (originally founded as Medard’s House) has always been to assist at-risk youth and their families. The organization’s vision is to create a place where economically disadvantaged kids residing in rural and suburban communities can come to be safe outside of school and receive tutoring, counseling, a hot meal, help with job and college applications, and more. Over the past several years, we have become a vital source for food for disadvantaged families, and our daily hot meal is often the most stable nutrition many receive outside school. As costs soar and the Food Bank reduces available foods due to funding cuts, we meet the emerging needs of poor families across Dauphin, Cumberland, and York counties. While we are a faith-based staff (impacting what WE do), our services are delivered with absolutely no regard for religious affiliation. We serve all youth, including those of all religions or no religion at all, no matter their ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual identity, nationality, physical ability, immigration status, religion, or other characteristic. We are committed to families in the working-class neighborhoods and small towns where there are so few services for disadvantaged youth.
