AMETHYST CENTER FOR HEALING
Mission Statement
Our practice offers counseling and advocacy to low-income, under-served, uninsured or underinsured members of our community who can benefit from trauma-informed Behavioral Health services for free or on an income-based sliding scale. We believe that domestic violence happens in families and that the healing from violence also happens in families. We offer specific groups that cater to individuals suffering the consequences of domestic violence - one to empower those who are victims and another to motivate growth and betterment to those who have used violence in their relationships. We also offer services to the child witnesses of violence to help them heal from the wounds of violence in age appropriate ways. The proposed future program is directed toward housing and rehabilitating abusive individuals. It provides a safe place, outside their homes, where they can learn the skills to be good partners and parents. This creates more safety and stability for the people who stay in the home.
