Our mission is not for participants to be “scared straight”, but through education learn decision making techniques and strategies for success. We encourage participants to become stakeholders in their destiny, that will inspire change. We endeavor to create an atmosphere of “relaxed alertness” where there it is a combination of high challenge and high expectations in a low threat learning community; and a state of mind that combines confidence, competence and intrinsic motivation (Cainelearning.com). Participants will explore education options to achieve their goals/passions. Upon successful completion of the course, participants return to their home high school understanding the value education and knowledge has in society, in addition to, possessing coping techniques and strategies to prevent inappropriate, delinquent, anti-social and defiant behaviors
