Mission Statement

White Aisle Foundation Mission statement: The White Aisle Foundation was established was organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational ?purposes on February 24, 2012 to honor the life of Rebecca Garrison-Sokoloff, who died of melanoma on November 13, 2011. Through the foundation, her family and friends intend to raise funds for melanoma research and patient support, as well as for other non-partisan charities that Rebecca held dear during her life. The White Aisle Foundation is a support-driven organization based in Baltimore, Maryland. The foundation will: • help fund research that will lead to effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for melanoma • provide education on melanoma prevention and treatment • support organizations that provide help with medical expenses to those with melanoma • support non-partisan charities that provide housing, education, and health care for children and young women in Cambodia Fundraising activities: The foundation will use its website, www.whiteaisle.org for fundraising purposes. Through its website the foundation will sell jewelry designed by Rebecca Garrison-Sokoloff, with all profits donated to the charities the foundation supports. (see Section VI) The foundation may in the future sell other items for fundraising purposes as well, including but not limited to stationary designed by Rebecca and prints of Rebecca’s photography. The foundation will also solicit donations directly through its website, organize fundraising events, and encourage supporters to organize their own fundraisers on the foundation’s behalf. Examples of these kinds of fundraisers include a proposed charity concert and a proposed charity climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. Distribution of proceeds: Proceeds from fundraising activities will be distributed twice annually, in June and December. The Board of Directors will determine percentages of proceeds to be distributed to each charity.
