Mission Statement

The purpose of The Mountain Vista Governor’s School Foundation is to advance the interests and programs of the Mountain Vista Governor’s School which is a regional public school serving multiple school divisions in the northern part of Virginia. The Foundation’s primary purpose will be to promote, assist, and encourage the educational efforts of the school which is a gifted high school providing a research-based, technology-enhanced, integrated program in Mathematics, Science, and the Humanities. The Foundation will seek to raise funds from individuals, businesses, and other institutions and will use those funds to benefit the school, including, but not limited to its buildings and grounds, its educational and extracurricular programs, its equipment, its student and faculty activities, etc. The Foundation was not organized to be operated for profit, and no part of its assets will be used to benefit its directors, officers or other individuals in any private capacity. The activities of the Foundation will be conducted primarily by its directors and officers. The Foundation is intended to exist for the time the school exists.
