MICHAEL AND DYLAN CAVALIER BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT FUND

Hi I'm the boy's mother, Jana Cavalier. First, thank you for considering the boys for your annual fundraiser. I would really like it if we could possibly give half of the proceeds to the CGD association for research. Here is the paragraph I would like for you to use: Michael, age 6, and Dylan, age 5, were diagnosed at an early age with x-linked Chronic Granulomatous Disease. This extremely rare primary immune deficiency causes serious and sometimes life-threatening infections. As of now, the only cure is a bone marrow transplant. Research is showing promising results with gene therapy for CGD in the future; however, it is not likely to be in the boy's lifetime. The boys will be undergoing a bone morrow transplant together this summer at UPMC Children's Hospital. Please consider supporting the family through this lengthy uphill battle in hopes to cure Michael and Dylan. Half of the proceeds will be going towards the CGD Association to help other families in need and to further research.
