ELW DRIVE FOR A CURE

For 20 years, Ardea Country Club and East Lake Woodlands golfers have conducted golf tournaments to raise funds to support breast cancer research, screening, diagnostic support, and treatment. We have raised over $700,000 since 2007 and have our sights set on exceeding $850,000 in 2026. The event has transitioned from a small, local tournament to one that attracts golfers from across the country. Over time we refocused our contributions to local recipients with a proven track record. Donations come from participants in the golf tournament, local businesses, and corporate sponsors. One hundred per cent of the net proceeds of our Drive for a Cure are donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (BCFCF), a local organization that provide temporary financial assistance to women undergoing cancer treatment, and the Morton Plant Mease Mammography Voucher Program, which provides diagnostic and treatment services to uninsured and underinsured patients. ? While our costs have increased dramatically in producing this event, we are determined to contain costs so we could donate the maximum amount possible to the charities. To accomplish this goal, we have an all-volunteer team to engage sponsors, enlist golfers, create interesting prize packages, and run the tournament. As we have
