FLAGSTAFF MEDICAL CENTER
Mission Statement
Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) is a subsidiary of Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH), the largest healthcare system in northern Arizona. Our overarching mission is "Improving health, healing people,” and, implicitly, we improve health when we improve access to healthcare in our community. The 2020 relocation of the Children’s Health Center (CHC) from FMC’s West Campus into a new, larger space in east Flagstaff is an example of the community benefits of this approach. The intent of the relocation effort is to consolidate children’s health services in a larger space, expanding and improving access to services. The new location is easily accessible and conveniently located off Highway 89A, with more parking available for patients than is currently available on the hospital campus. Adjacent to the interior components of the facility will be a new outdoor space for pediatric therapeutic and recreational activities. This outdoor area is the focus of this request, with the very specific charge to create a safe, engaging, and experiential learning environment that improves health and promotes healing.
