MATTHEW MANGINE JR FOUNDATION INC
Mission Statement
The Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation was started by Kim and Matt Mangine Sr. to educate parents, coaches, and athletes about the number of preventable sudden deaths. We strive to raise awareness about cardiac episodes by educating parents, coaches, and athletes on the importance of properly executing Emergency Action Plans. We advocate for the expanded use of AEDs along with heat/cold therapy devices. Our purpose is to make sure youth and high school athletes are properly cared for because no family should have to endure the pain of a preventable sudden death. Our mission is to promote awareness, education, and medical safety measures of all cardiac related episodes for competitive youth and high school sports, so we can ensure our youth athletes are protected and cared for when medical emergencies arise. The Foundation actively hosts life-saving compression training sessions using the Take10 method and has trained over 15,000 people to-date. The goal is to continue to train, provide education, and put to use Emergency Action Plans. Due to the high demand (requests received daily), the Foundation purchases and provides AED’s and life-saving equipment to sports facilities/youth organizations as allowed by available funding.
