Mission Statement
The mission of NAMI San Mateo is “… to improve the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education, and advocacy.” In support of our mission, we work to ensure the dignity of those diagnosed with a severe mental illness and their family members. We advocate at the county, state, and national level to secure non-discriminatory access to quality health care, employment opportunities, housing, and education for those with mental illness. We also work toward bringing an end to the stigma associated with mental illness with education for the public.
